Decently & Order

Introduction:

      How is it then, brethren?  Whenever you come together, … Let all things be done for edification … For God is not the author of confusion but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints … Let all things be done decently and in order. 1 Corinthians 14:26–40 (NKJV)

Discussion:

I.         God is not the author of confusion but of peace.

A.      Noise During Services

1.      Those Who Cannot Hear

a.      Literally, some cannot hear or concentrate

b.      Bottom line: Difficulty worshipping

2.      Those With Children

a.      Want children to learn to be quiet

b.      Doesn’t want to always be getting up/down … disrupting others

B.     Our Worship

1.      Applying the “great commandment”

a.      I must realize our worship is not about me but about magnifying our God.

b.      I must also be considerate regarding the well being of others.

2.      When both sides of a matter come together a peaceful conclusion – with minor inconvenience – can be reached.

Conclusion:

A.      Peaceful Conclusion

1.      Those Who Cannot Hear

a.     Continue with patience and understanding

b.     Those who can: consider helping families with children

2.      Those With Children

a.     Consider those who cannot worship

b.     Take children to another part of the building
