Five Year Plan

Introduction:

A.      Arrogant boasting about tomorrow’s success is not for God’s faithful. Jas. 4:13-17

B.     That said, planning is perfectly acceptable. v. 15

C.     It is with humility that we reflect and look forward to the goals for this year.

Discussion:

I.         CONGREGATIONAL GROWTH

“So then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase.” 1 Corinthians 3:7 (NKJV)

A.      “Jesus does not change what you do. He changes what you want to do.” Ravi Zacharias

1.      Take advantage of personal growth or evangelistic efforts.

2.      Spend time with and encourage one another.

3.      Let God give the increase as a result.

II.       OPPORTUNITIES FOR GROWTH

“And to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, to each according to his own ability; and immediately he went on a journey.” Matthew 25:15 (NKJV)

A.      Special classes for both younger and older men who want to participate in public situations.

B.     Special classes for those desiring to become elders/deacons.

C.     Truth Project Bible studies.

D.     “Teaching by cards”: a tool to evangelize.

E.     Women’s Bible studies.

F.      Men’s Saturday Bible studies.

III.      INCREASE IN OUR GIVING

“God loves a cheerful giver.” 2 Corinthians 9:7 (NKJV)

A.      Improve contributions 10% annually, which would allow for …

1.       Outside support of preachers in other areas.

2.       Preacher training program.

3.       Increase benevolence for Christians in need (locally or afar).

4.       Care for costly pending building repairs/maintenance.

Conclusion:

A.      What part will you take to see that we meet our goals for this year?

B.      May God make all grace abound toward us, to have all sufficiency in all things, that we may have an abundance for every good work. 2 Cor. 9:8
