Introduction:
A.
Why
is there a need to “urge” Christians to be transformed?
Rom.
12:1-2
1.
Is it natural to change from a fleshly person to one
spiritually minded?
2.
Conversely, is it impossible for a fleshly person to change
into one spiritually minded?

A Life Changing Message
A.
The
world says:
“God makes no mistakes … I was born this way.”
B.
Consider this biblical passage. Jer.
13:23
C.
So, how is it possible for one to charge another to
“change” … and that people have? 1
Cor. 6:9-11
D.
The
Gospel:
God’s power for everyone who believes. Rom.
1:16-17
1.
It reveals the righteousness of God.
2.
It reveals the need for man to live by faith (believing in
Jesus as the Savior).
3.
It is this “living by faith” that brings about a
substantive change in the lives of believers.
Knowing the life
changing message (gospel) and being transformed by it
is what distinguishes the life of a believer from another who is a
living sacrifice.
II.
A Life Changed
A.
It
is NOT natural for one who lives according to the flesh to be a
living sacrifice.
1.
He thinks, speaks and lives … like the world. Matt.
7:18
2.
To go from fleshly to spiritual takes a complete
transformation!
B.
To sacrifice your will for God’s – voluntarily – is
nothing short of “life changing” … a transfiguration of
sorts. 2
Cor. 3:18 (Matt.
17:2)
C.
We can change because God’s spirit is now in us bringing
us to not only discern His good will, but to do His good will.
Rom.
12:2
Conclusion:
A.
Getting
from my will to God’s will. Gal.
2:19-20
1.
From thinking of self
How
can I sin against God?
How
can I please my God?
2.
Thinking
of self
How
does this affect others?
How
can I love my neighbors?
