Dress for Success

Introduction:

A.      The business world understands that dress attire affects the overall attitude of one’s work life.

B.     What is true of this world eternally true when it comes to our clothing in Christ.

Discussion:

I.         Longing To Be Clothed

A.      Before one can have immortal “clothing”, it must be desired. 2 Cor. 5:2-4

B.     We have to be willing to pay the price. Matt. 13:44-46

C.     What is our clothing? Christ!

II.       Looking the Part

A heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, patience: bearing with one another, forgiving one another Col. 3:10-14 (Eph. 6:11-17; Gal. 5:22-25)

III.      Being The Part

A.      Those who are clothed in righteousness are prepared for a habitation in heaven. 2 Cor. 5:1-4

B.     This inward change will manifest itself outwardly: our speech, demeanor, behavior, even our dress. 1 Tim. 2:9-10

Conclusion:

A.      If we desire an immortal body — we must put on Christ and His righteousness.

B.      In so doing, God has prepared for us a body fit for a heavenly habitation.
