Text: Genesis
1:26-28; Romans 1:20-32
Notice especially in Romans
1
God gave them up to uncleanness (24)
They dishonored their bodies (24)
God gave them up to vile passions (26)
They did what is shameful (27)
God gave them up to debased minds (28)
They were filled with unrighteousness (29-31)
They deserve death (32)
They approve others doing evil (32)
All human beings have a sense of morality.
That is not true of non-human living beings.

Share everything
Play fair
Don’t hit people
Don’t take things that are not yours
Say you’re sorry when you hurt someone
We respond to right and wrong. We have
consciences.
We expect others to live by moral and ethical
principles.
Implicit in that is the recognition of an
objective standard.
All human beings have a similar sense of morality.
Not all live by their standards, but they accept
some standards.
Not all agree on particulars, but all have
stopping points.
Even terrorists have standards they use to
justify their actions.
All human beings know that they have violated
their moral standards.
All have a sense of “ought” (what one
“ought” to do).
Romans
2:14-15
Bible says we are made by a moral God and that
explains the difference between ourselves and animal life.
CONTRAST: Naturalism and Creationism
Naturalism: human life naturally
evolved by chance; no moral standard.
Nothing inherently wrong: murder, rape, theft,
social injustices, etc.
Morality just a feeling, not real.
Creationism:
God made us like Himself.
Morality established by God according to His
nature and character.
Man held accountable by a judgment of
his moral character (Rom.
14:12; 2 Cor. 5:10).
Social Injustices:
WHAT social injustices?
WHO determines what social injustices are?
HOW are they social injustices?
ON WHAT BASIS do people determine they should be
out crusading for causes of right and wrong? (global warming?,
killing animals?, etc.)
