Pressing On For The Family Prize

Introduction:  

      “I Press On Toward The Goal For The Prize Of The Upward Call Of God In Christ Jesus”

Philippians 3:14 (NASB)

Discussion:

I.         Focus As A Family Upon Heaven.

A.      Speak Often Of Heaven (Deut. 6:7-9; Phil. 3:20-21; Col. 3:1-4).

B.     Speak Often Of Heaven’s Rewards (Jn. 14:2-4; 1 Cor. 15:50-58; Phil. 3:21; 2 Tim. 4:8; 1 Pet. 1:4-5; 1 Jn. 3:2-3; Rev. 21:1-7).

II.       Establish Priorities As A Family.

A.      Seek First God’s Kingdom (Mt. 6:33; Phil. 3:4-11; Heb. 11:13-16; 1 Jn. 2:15-17; Rev. 2:2-4).

B.     Develop A Family Mission Statement (Josh. 24:14-15; Eph. 3:11).

III.      Follow God’s Plan For The Family.

A.      God Has A Clearly Established Plan For The Family (Gen. 2:23-24; Mt. 19:3-9; Eph. 5:22-33; 6:1-4; Col. 3:18-21; Hebrews 13:4; 1 Thess. 4:3-8; 1 Pet. 3:1-7).

B.     Following This Plan Will Enhance Our Walk With God (1 Cor. 7:5; 1 Pet. 3:7).

Conclusion:

      Focus As A Family Upon Heaven, Establish Priorities As A Family, and Follow God’s Plan For The Family.
