Studying the Holy Spirit

According to Romans 8:2, the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus will set us free from the law of sin and death with which we have trained our bodies. That being the case, this week’s focus on the Holy Spirit is an important part of our recent focus on being set free from sin and Satan.

Today we begin our gospel meeting with Max Dawson from Beaumont, TX. He has preached for us before and the members of this congregation know what a treat we are in for.

If you are our guest, we want to welcome you and thank you for joining us. We pray this series of lessons will benefit you greatly. We encourage you to fill out one of our guest cards and put it in the collection plate or give it to one of our members so we may be able to let you know how much we appreciate your visit.

We trust you will notice everything taught this week is firmly anchored in scripture. If you see or hear something that does not fit with God’s word, please bring that to our attention.

Both Max and the Franklin church desire to serve God His way. However, we know this is a growth process. Even older, studied Christians misunderstand the Bible at times. Therefore, we strive to keep the lines of communication open with all people. We believe through honest Bible study together we can understand what the will of God is as He commanded in Ephesians 5:17.

During this week’s series we will examine six aspects of the study of the Holy Spirit.

April 23 @   9am —         Who is the Holy Spirit?

April 23 @ 10am —         What is the Work of the Holy Spirit?

April 23 @   2pm —         Singing

April 23 @   3pm —         What about the Baptism of the Holy Spirit?

April 24 @   7pm —         What about Speaking in Tongues?

April 25 @   7pm —         How Does the Holy Spirit Dwell in Christians?

April 26 @   7pm —         What is the Gift of the Holy Spirit?

This is going to be an exciting week for us at the Franklin church and we hope you, our guests, will join us for every part of it.

We want to remind our members of the change in the schedule of assemblies today. Instead of our usual evening assembly, we will meet at 2:00 pm for singing and 3:00 pm for the lesson.

Again, to our guests, if you have any questions about the congregation or about this very special series of lessons, please feel free to ask any of the brethren here and if we can’t answer your question we will happily direct you to those who can.
